HI Kim, I came to your Substack through Michelle. And I am so glad I did! Ireland is such a magical place (I have visited 3 times and hope for more). Your journey as described seemed spiritual and affirming. I am happy for you! We have much in common—the 3 songs you mentioned are favorites,, and I have Mark Nepo’s Book of Awakening on my nightstand. Let’s keep in touch! ~Beth

Hi Beth,

I’m so glad you found your way here through Michelle — what a lovely connection! And yes, Ireland truly is magical; I love that you’ve visited three times and still feel it calling you back. It has a way of doing that.

Thank you for your kind words about my journey. It was deeply spiritual and affirming, and it means a lot that it resonated with you.

And how wonderful that we share so much — those songs, and Mark Nepo’s Book of Awakening (a longtime companion of mine as well). I’d love to keep in touch. I’m grateful our paths crossed here. 💛✨🌙

Thank you for this nostalgic, ancient, sensory experience. I was transported into deep roots and spiraling symbolism in your storytelling.

Thank you for being here, Nicole. Your words are a gift I’m holding close. It means more than I can say to know this essay resonated with you - that its roots and symbols found a home in your heart. 💛✨🌙

What beautiful writing Kim about returning home to self. I loved how the circle made you feel and learning more about the symbolism of the Claddagh . Ireland is such a beautiful land. I felt shivers down my spine when I was taken to visit the site of my paternal grandmothers cottage and the well she would have used in rural County Mayo. I never knew her and am named for her. I will never forget the sense of place it brought. ✨💚

Thank you Bridget — I’m so touched by your message. ✨ The way you describe visiting your grandmother’s cottage and well in County Mayo gave me shivers too. Those moments of returning to a place our ancestors knew hold such quiet, powerful meaning. I’m honoured you shared that memory here, and grateful the essay resonated with your own sense of home. 💛✨

Lovely reflections and storytelling. I am struck by the sentence about falling apart and beginning again coming from the same root - appreciate that insight, and will take it with me - thankyou 🙏

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment, Siobhan 💛✨ I’m so glad that line resonated with you. It’s one of those truths that keeps returning to me — how falling apart and beginning again are so often intertwined, part of the same sacred rhythm. I’m grateful it offered something meaningful for you today. 🙏

Truly a lovely post Kim. Very poetic and full of ancient wisdom, in a beautiful place that feels wonderfully wild somehow. Enjoyed reading. Felt like you’d posted this before?

Thank you Alegria - I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it. The Uragh stone circle will always have a special place in my heart; it’s one of my favourite wild places in the world. And yes, you’ve met these words before — in a much earlier, draftier form in Beth Kempton's River of Words…
